Reading and listening 15/08/2016
We've spent the week camping in the Peak District. After surviving 8 hours of driving rain and 49 mph winds on our first night we had a fun, if somewhat cool-temperate, week.
Thanks to the the mobile data plan that I otherwise rarely use, I got to catch up on some reading, which is a rare thing during the summer holidays.
We drove through the National Forest on route; and so this is an uplifting read -
How millions of trees brought a broken landscape back to life - The Guardian
Libera Terra - Sicily's Anti Mafia Farms - BBC Radio 4
How to Get your Apartment Off the Grid - Low-Tech Magazine
I also picked up a copy of Ursula Buchan's A Green and Pleasant Land - How England's Gardeners Fought the Second World War. I would be struggling to put it down, if I didn't have three children demanding my attention.
